About me

I'm Louise, a qualified counsellor with a Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling Practice and a degree in Psychology and Counselling. My interest in mental health developed over time, shaped by both personal experiences and academic study.

In 2014 I began studying Psychology and Counselling at Teesside University, after graduating in 2017 and completing a level 2 in counselling skills the same year.

I also studied Hypnotherapy and Counselling with Chrysalis where I gained my Professional diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling in 2023.

After receiving my qualifications, I decided to take a step back for a while to have a breather and think about my next steps.

After a lot of consideration, I decided it was time to open my own business as a counsellor. I have done many different jobs over the years, however I never really felt they were the right fit for me, until now.

My counselling style

Each session is shaped around you, what you bring, what you need, and at a pace that suits you.

You won’t be told what to do or how to feel; instead, we’ll work together to explore what’s happening for you, uncover what might be holding you back, and find a way forward that feels meaningful.

I offer a warm, non-judgemental space where you can feel heard, supported, and are free to be yourself.

As a pluralistic, person-centred counsellor, I tailor therapy to your unique needs and draw on a range of methods to support what feels most helpful for you. I believe there is no one-size-fits-all way to do therapy.

My values and What to expect

I believe therapy should feel personal and meaningful, not a one size fits all service. You are an individual and you deserve support which reflects this.

Here you’ll find a non-judgemental space where you can simply be yourself. I meet every client with respect, acceptance, and understanding, and I’m committed to creating a therapeutic environment where you feel safe, seen, and heard.

I understand how painful it can be to feel judged or misunderstood before you've even had the chance to speak. That’s why I’ve built my practice to be the opposite: a place where assumptions are left at the door, and your story is honoured with empathy and care.
